FACE DOWN: In Serious Writing Mode
May 25, 2006FACE DOWN, the reunited Swedish outfit featuring former THE HAUNTED singer Marco Aro, have posted the following update on their official web site:
"We're currently in serious writing mode, working on new songs for the next album. Depending on schedules, we hope to record it this autumn at Fear and Loathing Studio [co-owned by MESHUGGAH and CLAWFINGER] [in Spånga, Sweden] with producer Jocke Skog [CLAWFINGER]. We also hope to record a pre-production demo with 4-5 new songs at the end of the summer. More news on that later.
"New show: We are confirmed to play the Tuska [festival] after-show party at the Tavastia club in Helsinki, Finland on Friday the 30th of June. Make sure you show up and have a few beers with us!
"Chris [new drummer Christofer Barkensjö; KAAMOS, BLACKSHINE] has just landed an endorsement deal with Crafton Musik AB. He's now proudly using Meinl cymbals, Pro Mark sticks and Evans drum heads exclusively."
Barkensjö joined FACE DOWN as the replacement for Erik Thyselius, who will continue to be involved with CONSTRUCDEAD and TERROR 2000.
As previously reported, FACE DOWN entered the Swedish hard rock album chart at position No. 19 with their latest effort, "The Will to Power" back in November 2005. The CD was recorded at Fear and Loathing Studio with engineer/producer Jocke Skog and was mastered at the Cutting Room. A limited-edition version of "The Will to Power" includes special DVD-box packaging, a specially designed slip-case, an XL version of the booklet, a FACE DOWN sticker, and two bonus tracks not found on the regular CD edition ("My Sacrifice" and "Strife", re-recorded versions).
